All About IHP

The Irish Hunting Podcast was originally set up to encourage and promote traditional hunting, fishing and country sports values and ethics. We believed that there was a need to showcase the benefits, traditions, history and the spirit that encapsulates the very heart of our worldwide community.

Anthony came to hunting relatively late in life, a keen interest in the outdoors and a strong belief in both the spiritual wellbeing and of the nourishing benefits of wild game. A keen cook and a father of five, he wanted to introduce wild organic meat into everyday life in the home. This quickly turned into a passion. From initially starting out shooting pheasant and duck, and quite quickly evolving into deerstalking. This passion has culminated in Anthony becoming chairman of his local game and conservation club, youth development officer for Kildare and learning how to fish and hunt across the world

Robert learned to hunt and fish at an early age, quickly developed into a successful pursuant of both and then elevated to deer stalking in his late teens. His passion for the outdoors and firearms led him first to the Army and then to the Aircore, quickly rising up the ranks in both, where he honed his skills even further. Now an expert marksman with a huge knowledge in firearms, hunting techniques and bushcraft , Robert has continued his passion while adding dog training to his repertoire

 

Anthony and Robert became friends over 14 years ago while training in Jiu Jitsu and quickly realised that their shared stubbornness, never-quit attitude tinged with a healthy competitive streak meant their friendship forged on a mat in the midlands of Ireland would be continuously tempered in the woods, bogs , lakes and fields
